Co-founded Carpathia in 2020 and has directed operational strategy and execution of the firm since inception. Prior to founding Carpathia, Miguel held roles in private equity, M&A and restructuring at J.P. Morgan, Blackstone and PJT Partners. Miguel holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña.

Joined the firm in January 2024. Previously Head of Strategy & Business Development at Asistensi, an insurtech startup with operations in Latin America and Southeast Asia. Before Asistensi, Gaspar served as Principal at Nazca, a leading venture capital firm in Latin America. He began his career in M&A at Lazard. Gaspar holds a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Carlos III.

Joined the firm in June 2026. Previously investment banking associate at Barclays, where he was part of the TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications) team. Before Barclays, Gonzalo worked at Alantra in the M&A team. He began his career at KPMG in the Transaction Services division. Gonzalo holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE Business School.

Joined the firm in September 2024. Previously analyst at GVC Gaesco within the Corporate Finance and Capital Risk division. Marta began her career at KPMG in the Government, Risk & Compliance team. Marta holds a dual degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pompeu Fabra.

Joined the firm in October 2023. Previously held different various roles at engineering firms, including project management, project drafting and budgeting, third-party relations, and business and accounting management. Noelia holds a degree in Engineering from the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya and an MBA from EAE Business School.

Before Alza, Ángel co-founded and led Lottus Education where he scaled the company to one of Mexico’s leading higher education platforms, culminating in one of the most successful outcomes in the search fund space. Prior to that, Ángel worked in private equity and M&A at Miura Partners and J.P. Morgan. Ángel holds a Master in Finance from London Business School and a dual B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Economics from Northwestern University.

Before Alza, Guillermo co-founded and led Lottus Education where he scaled the company to one of Mexico’s leading higher education platforms, culminating in one of the most successful outcomes in the search fund space. Prior to that, he held strategic, operational and investment roles at FEMSA and Credit Suisse. In 2026, Guillermo took over the presidency of Grupo Proeza, a group with more than €3Bn in turnover. Guillermo holds an MBA from Babson College and a B.A. in Business from the University of Notre Dame.

Managing Partner of Barrilero and founder of Barrilero Legal Angels, a division specialised in legal services for private equity funds, search funds, and strategic investors, covering everything from M&A processes to capital markets advisory and IPOs in Spain and abroad. Barrilero holds a leading position in legal advisory within the ETA (Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition) ecosystem globally. Tomás supports the Fundación Pro Bono España and is involved with the Menorca Preservation Fund. He is a graduate of the Leadership in Law Firms (LLF) programme at Harvard Law School Executive Education. He also holds an LL.M. in Tax Law from Centro de Estudios Garrigues, a Master’s in Legal Practice from Universidad de Nebrija, and a B.S. in Law from Universidad de Deusto.
